Giving back and serving others is an important core value for our client, Surgical Care Affiliates (SCA). SCA has long incorporated community service programs into their Annual Leadership Meeting and encourages their teammates to participate in service programs in their communities.

SCA CEO Andrew Hayek observed that many physicians and teammates within the SCA community were independently involved in medical missions programs, which inspired the creation of the SCA Medical Missions program.

The SCA Medical Missions program enables teammates and partners to raise funds and participate in week-long medical brigades with their families, while serving those most in need abroad. SCA identified and focused on Honduras initially as a country where SCA Medical Missions could make a positive impact after meeting Dr. Peter Daly, the co-founder of the Holy Family Surgery Center (HFSC). Over its decade long history, the world-class HFSC facility and staff has served thousands of patients who otherwise could not afford or have access to quality surgical care.

The surgery center is located on the 2,000 acre Nuestros Pequenos Hermanos (NPH) ranch. Founded in 1954 by a young priest, NPH is a safe, caring and loving place for orphaned boys and girls. NPH provides schooling and vocational education for every child living at NPH, while also providing a stable home for them to grow up together as brothers and sisters.

One year into the SCA Medical Missions program, SCA asked TRG to partner with them to spread the word and increase participation on future medical brigades. TRG was honored to participate in this program by creating a series of videos to help increase participation in the program and fundraise for future surgeries. Our partnership began with TRG teammate Nathan, who recently flew to Honduras with other volunteers and spent several days filming the medical brigade, and interviewed SCA teammates and physicians.

Giving back is a privilege. TRG is excited to have the opportunity to partner with SCA on this important and life changing program.
